What is TRON Energy?
Energy is the resource TRON uses to execute smart contracts, including token transfers, cross-chain swaps and other contract calls. It comes from staking TRX or receiving delegated resources. There is no free daily energy allowance; without enough energy, the network burns TRX to cover the shortfall.
Where does the energy come from?
Exclusively from institutional suppliers subject to strict compliance requirements, including TRX that our staking clients stake with Luganodes’ TRON Super Representative, running since 2022. No anonymous energy sources are involved. It is one of the largest energy supplies on TRON, with billions of energy units under contractual commitments from our suppliers, so supply stays consistent at any volume. The energy is delegated to your addresses without any TRX moving. Every delegation is recorded on-chain, so the source of the energy behind your transactions is always traceable.
Does anything change in how we sign or send?
No. TRON applies delegated energy at the protocol level. Your wallet software, signing flow and custody setup stay the same. Your address does not need to sign anything to receive the delegation.
How is energy priced?
Pricing is tailored to each operation. Depending on your volume profile, it can be per transaction funded or per unit of delegated energy per day. Costs are typically up to 80% lower than burning TRX. Our team confirms a quote for your volume and transaction mix.
What if we use more than our delegated capacity?
TRON burns TRX from your sending address to cover the shortfall. If the address has no TRX, the transaction fails. Consumption monitoring and top-ups are available on request to help capacity keep pace with demand.
Why does energy use vary by transaction?
Energy depends on the contract and the call. A cross-chain swap or multi-step contract call can consume more than a simple token transfer, and a USDT transfer to an address with a zero USDT balance consumes roughly twice the energy of one to an existing holder. We size your delegation to your actual transaction mix.
Can capacity be reserved?
TRON supports delegation locks of up to 30 days. Reserved or locked capacity is subject to agreement and availability. Contact our team to agree the period and capacity your operation needs.
Do you offer an API?
Yes, the on-demand API is live. Your system calls it before broadcasting a transaction, and we delegate the required energy to the sending address within a single block. The transaction then executes against the delegated energy. Requests can be per transaction, or reserved capacity for a day or a month. Nothing changes in how transactions are built or signed. Contact our team for API access.
Can we route transactions through your RPC endpoint?
Yes, the RPC route is live. Your system sends signed transactions to the Luganodes TRON RPC endpoint in place of its current node. We screen each transaction, delegate the energy it needs to the sending address and broadcast it, within a single block. No API integration is needed, and nothing changes in how transactions are built or signed. Contact our team for endpoint access.
